SoundSeam v1 Release
This post covers the July 2025 SoundSeam v1 release. The payout section has since been updated to reflect Whop. For current plan details and available tools, check SoundSeam’s selling page.
The release added payout tools, free-download email capture, analytics, playlists, referrals, notifications, and recommendations. Here is what changed.
1. Producer payouts (updated)
SoundSeam now uses Whop for producer payout setup and withdrawals.
- Open Settings → Payouts to connect your Whop account and complete any required verification.
- Eligible earnings transfer to Whop after settlement and any applicable holds.
- Manage withdrawal details through Whop. Availability and timing depend on your account and payout method.
2. Free Downloads + Email Marketing
The release introduced a way to offer a free non-profit download and collect an email at checkout:
- Toggle “Free Download (Non-Profit)” on any beat
- Connect Mailchimp (more ESPs coming)
- Collect emails automatically at checkout
Explain what the download permits and what email the listener is signing up to receive.
3. Deep Store-Level & Track-Level Analytics
The release added store-level and track-level reports:

4. Referral program at launch

- Friend signs up and uploads one beat
- Earn 1 free month of Pro (stack up to five)
These were the referral terms described at launch. Check the current offer in your account before sharing a referral link.
5. Playlists & Editor’s Choice
- Private playlists — organise ideas for specific artists
- Public playlists — showcase themed sets on your profile
- Editor’s Choice — curated by SoundSeam, featured on Explore
6. In-App Notifications
Sales, playlist adds, follows, payout events, get real-time updates and fine-tune which alerts matter to you.
7. Recommendation Algorithm v1
- More randomisation on Explore/Browse (fresh visibility)
- Extra weight on beats with strong average play time
- Track & playlist pages now surface “You Might Also Like” carousels
8. Interface and performance updates
Things you’ll notice:
- Faster page loads
- Tighter spacing & typography
- Clearer hover states
- Dark-mode refinement
Things you won’t:
- Dozens of under-the-hood performance bumps
- Edge-case bug fixes, from spacing nits to rare upload errors
